Client: Upasana
Upasana, a design and manufacturing facility in Auroville, south India has launched a project to aid the silk weavers of Varanasi. The livelihood of these highly skilled craftspeople has been put in jeopardy by the trend away from traditional saris towards western style fashions. The line shown in this series uses the traditionally woven silks for contemporary casual and office wear.
